CHRISTINA PAPAIOANOU
Christina Papaioannou is an Athens-based visual artist from Thessaloniki, Greece. She holds an Integrated
Master’s degree from the Athens School of Fine Arts and has emerged as a distinctive voice within
contemporary painting.

Christina Papaioannou is an Athens-based visual artist from Thessaloniki, Greece. She holds an Integrated
Master’s degree from the Athens School of Fine Arts and has emerged as a distinctive voice within
contemporary painting. In 2019, she was awarded the MATAROA Award for emerging artists at the 4th Art
Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibition
in Greece, Cyprus, London, Mallorca, and Vienna, and is held in private collections.
Her practice has been published by SNAP Collective publishing house in a hardcover retrospective art book,
documenting her work from 2017 to the present day. In 2024, Papaioannou collaborated with Plaisio, Greece’s leading technology retailer, where she was selected as the featured artist for its iconic annual calendar and appeared on the cover of NOW Magazine. She also collaborates with Mantility, a greek brand that transforms artworks into silk scarves. Her work explores the visual language of the digital age, examining image circulation, information overload, and the shifting boundaries between physical and virtual experience.
